Parveen Nair an acomplished classical India dancer and a certified Iyengar yoga teacher . He began his yogic journey when he was awarded an International scholarship to futher his studies in classical dance in India . Parveen return to Malaysia in 2004 and started teaching yoga in Kuala Lumpur . Parveen’s passion for Iyengar yoga developed after he came across Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar’s most acclaimed yoga book , ” <em><strong>The Light of Yoga </strong></em>”. He was drawn into the emphasis on precision and alighment as well as the teachings of the Yoga Sutras . His years of practice and teaching reflected on his commitment towards Iyengar Yoga . He regularly attend workshops and intensive causes with senior Iyengar yoga teacher to deepen his knowledge towards his practice and teaching . He often travels to India to study with senior teachers such as Usha Devi , Karin O’ Bannon and Fahiq Beria . Parveen is the founder of Swarupa Iyengar Yoga Studio which is the pioneer Iyengar Yoga studio in Malaysia .
Vasugi completed her Nursing education in November 1990 and worked as an Operating Theater Nurse.Her interest in yoga began when she came across a Yoga asana book by Tara Fraser.She began her yoga practice with her teacher Parveen Nair. Vasugi’s yoga practice encouraged her to approach life in a holistic way.After two and half years of dedicated practice with Parveen’s guidance,she began her journey to become a yoga teacher. With the blessings of her spiritual teacher, Swami Abhishek Chaitanya and her teacher Parveen Nair, she began her formal training to become a yoga teacher.Vasugi has been practising Iyengar yoga since 2006 and taught classes since 2008. Her practice and teaching is deeply rooted in the Iyengar yoga tradition. Vasugi continues to pursue her philosophical studies on Yoga Sutra and the Bhagvad Gita with her her spiritual teacher Swami Abhishek Che credits her teacher Parveen Nair who inspired and guided her in her yogic journey and all the teachers who have guided her practice and teaching. Vasugi now shares her passion for yoga with fellow yogis at Swarupa Iyengar Yoga.
Jacqueline has been practising yoga since 2005 when she began her practice with her teacher Parveen Nair. A banker by profession, she found solace in her yoga practice to balance the demands of her career. Under the guidance of Parveen, she began practising Iyengar yoga which emphasizes on correct alignment and precision in asana practice. Jacqueline’s consistent yoga practice following the Iyengar style has developed her strength and flexibility and cultivated a calm and steady mind. Jacqueline has found the integration and discipline beneficial, which gradually led her to begin teacher training to teach and share this knowledge. Today, she continues her practice and teaching under the guidance of Parveen.
A dedicated and devoted practitioner, she continues to study with senior Iyengar teachers locally and in India. Jacqueline continues her studies on the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagvad Gita with her spiritual teacher Swami Abishek Chaitanya. Jacqueline is grateful to be able to share this knowledge of yoga that has been passed to her with others at Swarupa Iyengar Yoga.
